Steady Progress and Fluffy Creatures

Wet and fluffy

Went out this morning to see how progress was going with two of the Shift Time Festival projects. The sculpture, Quantum Leap is steadly growing — at least twice as many stones in place as when I saw it last, the overall shape is starting to become clear. Meanwhile, in the Quarry Park, Clinton Chaloner’s wooden menagerie for Primordial Soup has also doubled in size. Some fascinating creatures are appearing there. (The place for the eventual installation has changed again: it will now be displayed in The Dingle, in the park, rather than on the banks of the Severn. A slightly less effective setting than the river, but it will allow people to get much closer to the pieces.)

But what caught my camera today was the swan family from the Welsh Bridge, out for a midday outing. Mum, Dad and six fine cygnets.
